How to connect a QSFP to an SFP?

Transceivers with MPO type connectors have the ability to be split into 4 (4x10G for 40G-SR440G-PSM4 and 4x25G for 100G-SR4 100G-PSM4, etc…).

To do this, you must use MPO to 4LC type jumpers (multimode or singlemode) and configure the interface of your switch in breakout mode. Here are some examples:

Cisco N3K :

hardware profile portmode 64x10g

Cisco N9K :

interface breakout module [module] port [interface] map [speed]

Juniper EX :

set chassis fpc [fpc] pic [pic] port [interface] channel-speed [speed]
